Supply-Chain Alert: Major Three-Day Strike in Belgium

Supply-Chain Alert: Major Three-Day Strike in Belgium

Belgium is set for a three-day national strike from November 24 – 26, as major unions protest the government’s austerity reforms.

Disruptions are expected across public transport, including metro, tram, bus, and rail.

Rail services by SNCB will be limited, and Eurostar trains will also be affected.

Flights from Brussels Airport on November 26 are canceled, and ferry services may also be disrupted.

Other impacted services include waste collection, postal services, and some municipal services.

We advise our clients and partners with operations or logistics flows through Belgium to plan ahead:

  • Expect delays or limited availability in rail and bus services
  • Anticipate possible flight cancellations, especially on November 26
  • Reassess routing, inventory, and staffing to mitigate disruption

At ICL Global, our logistics and shipping teams continue to closely monitor developments to ensure business continuity and provide timely updates for our partners and clients.
